My "Why"
When I was hospitalized, I remained cold despite being covered with hospital blankets. It wasn’t until a visiting friend gave me a beautiful, hand-crocheted blanket that I experienced a sense of warmth and comfort for the first time during my hospital stay.
That simple, heartfelt gift meant so much to me. Today, as a member of the Warm Thy Spirit Crochet Team, I have the opportunity to pass that same warmth along to others—especially members of our community and our veterans.
Being able to create and share these blankets has become much more than crocheting. It is a way of offering comfort, compassion, dignity, and a tangible reminder that someone cares.
With inflation and other factors continuing to increase the cost of everyday necessities, the need for support and kindness in our community has only become greater. Through Warm Thy Spirit, I hope we can help ensure that those we serve feel not only physically warmer, but also supported, valued, connected, and remembered.
I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to give back in a way that is so personal to me. The warmth I received when I was at my most vulnerable continues to inspire me to share that warmth with others.

Acts of Care
Warm Thy Spirit, acts of care, giving, a blanket to targeted individuals in need provide a ripple effect that stretches far beyond simply the single act of handing a blanket to someone. It can touch families, partners, individuals and entire communities. It helps people to feel protected and seen during some of the most important times of their lives. Loneliness and feeling alone can cause serious heart disease and stroke, depression and anxiety, and premature death.
